I was just reading an interesting article on ZDNet about how the adoption of Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 7 could be accelerated thanks to virtualization becoming more mainstream.

The Terminal Services Team at Microsoft has announced when they will release App-V 4.5, their application virtualization solution, formerly known as SoftGrid. It will be available for download on November 1st on VLSC.

Recently, several sources have speculated as to whether or not Microsoft is planning to purchase Citrix. Some sources said that Microsoft would buy Citrix before VMware’s VMworld Conference, but clearly that did not happen. However, it is thought that an announcement, if at all, might be made in the next few days.
