Recently, several sources have speculated as to whether or not Microsoft is planning to purchase Citrix. Some sources said that Microsoft would buy Citrix before VMware’s VMworld Conference, but clearly that did not happen. However, it is thought that an announcement, if at all, might be made in the next few days.

With the recent release of Hyper-V, Microsoft is full steam ahead on it’s virtualization strategy. There new catch-phrase/tagline is “getVIRTUALnow“. They will be officially kicking things off with the official Microsoft Virtualization Launch in Bellevue, Washington on September 8th.

I know that I had some problems getting it up and running and from what I have heard/read, I’m not alone. I found a good article that outlines exactly what it takes to get Suse Enterprise Linux 10 SP1 up and running on Microsoft Hyper-V.

With Server 2008 going RTM last week, Microsoft is now on the clock to deliver the long awaited Hyper-V. They have told us we should see a finished product within 180 days from the Server 2008 launch (coming early March). Stay tuned for some in-depth reviews of the Hyper-V RC leading up to the release.
