Compiz Fusion in a Virtual Machine???

Yes, apparently it does work. Chris Pirillo just uploaded a video of him (in his usualy manor) expressing extreme excitement about Compiz Fusion in a virtual machine using non other than Sun’s Virtual Box!

We’ve mentioned Virtual Box in the past. It is free and open source virtualization software across multiple platforms. Compiz Fusion, is linux’s advanced 3D desktop compositing technology. It required hardware acceleration to use it. VMware Fusion and Workstation have been unable to provide the guest operating system enough access to the graphics card to let such technology work. This makes me wonder… why?

Either way, definitely check this cool effect out! You no longer have to install Ubuntu on a physical machine to play with the wobbly windows!

In addition to that, they have improved 3D support (not that it was too shabby before). [...]
